FabLab VLC Océano Naranja

FabLab VLC Oceano Naranja, specialized for more than 20 years in the production of models and prototypes, has/installed a digital creation and manufacturing space in the Alboraya industrial estate where almost anything can be done. FabLab VLC Oceano Naranja continuously adapts new technologies (CNC machine as laser cutters, engravers, 3D printers, etc.) and is certificated as official FabLab by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

FabLab – digital fabrication laboratories – were set up to inspire people and entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into new products and prototypes by giving them access to a range of advanced digital manufacturing technology. The idea was conceived by renowned inventor and scientist Professor Neil Gershenfeld at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His idea was a simple one: to provide the environment, skills, advanced materials and technology to make things cheaply and quickly anywhere in the world, and to make this available on a local basis to entrepreneurs, students, artists, small businesses and in fact, anyone who wants to create something

A global network of over 150 Fab Labs now exists, connecting people, communities and businesses across the world and enabling them to collaborate, problem solve and brainstorm ideas.

FabLab VLC is supported by networks such as Ouishare, the international network that promotes the Collaborative Economy, or CREFAB, the Spanish network for Digital Creation and Manufacturing. In addition, they work closely together with many commissions in the museography sector.

This makerspace, already part of the FabLabs network of the FabFoudation linked to MIT, will have cnc milling machines, laser cutting machines and other resources for machining, assembling and finishing prototypes and small series, promoting the Do it Yourself (and Do it Together) philosophy and maker culture, with the aim of reducing costs, sharing spaces, collaborating in projects and intervening in regulated and non-regulated training, among which the agreement that has been established with the European University to provide teaching in its facilities stands out.
